an old villager who 'has the time to stand and stare', on the scenic road from naggar to jana waterfall...(i did not care much for the last bit of the almost single lane dirt road with a sheer fall on one side and the negotiating of oncoming vehicles !!)

p.s.: i was informed that people visit the jana waterfall just to eat at this dhaba run by a lady from the village serving authentic local food. we reached there way past lunch time so i asked for a taste of her 'saag' preparation which was quite good!

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

deafening images
seared on that inward eye
instead of daffodils....
